Why I want to be part of The Envirolution:
We need greater awareness of climate change, social inequality (relevant in the form of environmental justice--eg poor people get pollution and asbestos), the impact that chemicals and byproducts are having on our world (traveling up to the tundra and killing oceans) and our bodies (immune systems, etc). The Envirolution has the potential to be a forum for discussing these and other issues (such as reconciling the political economy of oil, and the importance of our market presence in the middle east, along with the fact that burning oil releases a lot of CO2 and processing/burning is inefficient). We need more and more perspectives on these issues, and the best ways to approach them. We need to know what people from all walks of life consider to be their top priorities, and try to move these concerns higher up on that list. Ultimately, we need to make subtle changes in our lifestyles, and the personal decisions that go along with them. I believe that the Envirolution has potential to bring together a wide variety of perspectives, and provide another green launching pad.

What I can contribute to The Envirolution:
Research, leg work, love, and my special blend of optimism, cynicism, and realism.
What I am currently working on for The Envirolution: conference/event at Yale University emphasizing the profitability and responsibility of green enterprise and green investment decisions.

What I am into, besides The Envirolution:
I like hiking/camping, reading, mountain biking (though I bit it pretty hard recently), and trying to be a good person
